Frequently Asked Questions
-
It’s a fair question, and the honest answer is: we have no idea. Nobody does. And that’s the fun part.
Roughly 360,000 babies are born around the world every day. That works out to about 250 births every minute, or 4-5 new humans every second. Which means that by the time you finish reading this sentence, the title of World’s Youngest Person has changed hands at least a dozen times.
There is no committee that tracks it. No registry, no podium, no tearful acceptance speech. The reigning World’s Youngest person is, at any given moment, a baby somewhere on Earth who has absolutely no idea they’re famous—and whose reign will end before their parents finish counting fingers and toes.
So who holds the record? Statistically speaking, the current titleholder is most likely someone in countries with the most daily births. But by the time any announcement could be made, it would already be out of data. It is the only world record that is broken hundreds of thousands of times a day, every day, without fail, and has been since the dawn of humanity.
Here’s the part people forget: You held this record. Not metaphorically. Literally. At the moment you were born, every other human on the planet was older than you. For one brief, glorious moment, you were the youngest person in the world—a genuine, undisputed, never-to-be-revoked world record holder. Then someone else was born, and your reign ended. (We’re sorry. It happens to everyone.)
-
We did the math. With about 140 million births per year— roughly 4.5 per second—the average reign lasts about 0.22 seconds. About as long as a blink.
Your personal reign may have been longer, so we use all available information to best estimate the length of your reign.
Births cluster on weekday mornings (thanks, scheduled deliveries) and thin out in the small hours of weekend nights, so if you arrived at 3am on a quiet Sunday, you may have held the record for slightly longer. And if you were born decades ago, when global birth rates were lower, your reign statistically beat today’s newborns.

Regardless of whether the certificate is for yourself or for someone else, simply go to the Order a Certificate page, click “Purchase,” fill in the required details, checkout, and then sit back and relax while we produce and ship your official certificate.
-
Absolutely! In fact, we highly encourage ordering a certificate for others because it is a fun gift that is sure to wow. You could order a certificate as a unique present for friends, family, and coworkers, or as a commemorative gift to parents of a newborn when their own little World Record holder was born!
-
Yes! Although we can only claim to be experts on the world’s youngest people, we can absolutely alter our certificates to be for your furry, slippery, scaly, feathery, etc. family members. Simply add the species of your pet in the “Additional Comments” box when entering the birth details.
“World’s Youngest Dog,” for example, hits different on a living-room wall. It’s a favorite for puppy households, adoption anniversaries (“gotcha days”), and anyone whose pet already runs the house and deserves the paperwork to prove their awesomeness.
-
Almost any occasion where you want a gift that gets a laugh on the reveal and then quietly becomes a keepsake. Our customer’s favorites:
Baby showers and new arrivals. The newest member of the family is, briefly, an actual world record holder—this certificate commemorates it on the day it happens. It’s the shower gift nobody else brings, and unlike the fourth diaper cake, it takes pride of place in the nursery.
Birthdays. Remind someone of their greatest achievement, accomplished at age 0, with out even training.
Christmas, Hanukkah, and stocking-stuffer season. A framed world record beats another candle or socks.
Office parties and coworker gifts. One certificate on a cubicle wall has a documented tendency to multiply across the office.
Retirement. Their second record: once the world’s youngest person, now the office’s more free.
Graduations. Their second-most impressive certificate.
Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, and grandparents. Bonus: older recipients statistically held the record longer, which they will enjoy pointing out.
The person who has everything. This is the one thing they already earned but don’t yet own.
-
The one thing they earned but never claimed. The person who has everything owns every gadget, gadget upgrade, and novelty sock on the market—but they do not own official proof that they once held a world record. Nobody does, until they order it.
It works because it’s not another object; it’s a true story about them, framed. They were, for one brief and glorious moment, the youngest person on Earth—verifiably, mathematically, undeniably. A certificate with their name, their date and time of birth, a hand-stamped gold seal, and a unique holographic serial number turns the world’s most common achievement into the world’s most unique gift.
-
You will receive a unique and sentimental keepsake that commemorates the special moment when you were the World’s Youngest Person! Your record will be immortalized on an official certificate printed on 100% cotton paper, with the option of choosing a 15.2” x 12.2” frame, with professional-grade card matting and tempered glass. Simply hang it on your wall and bask in the glory!
-
Your certificate is designed with multiple security features to ensure authenticity. It includes a holographic security sticker with a unique number, making it easy to verify and difficult to replicate. Additionally, each certificate features a hand-stamped gold sticker embossed with our official logo, adding an extra touch of elegance and credibility. These measures guarantee that your certificate is authentic and reflects the significance of your achievement.

Absolutely. We take privacy very seriously. All transactions are done safely and securely. We use PCI-compliant servers, payment data encryption, and instant risk monitoring to keep you safe. Your personal and financial information is always protected and will not be shared with anyone. You also don’t need to provide any information that you are not comfortable sharing. Just note that the resulting certificate may differ slightly from others as we adjust it to fit your needs.

It might be the ideal one. The best white elephant gift has two properties: it’s funny the moment it’s unwrapped, and it’s secretly something people want to keep—which is why it gets stolen every round. A framed world record certificate does both: the reveal gets the laugh, and then someone realizes it’s a genuinely nice framed piece on archival cotton paper with a gold seal, and suddenly it’s the most context item at the party.
At $14.99 for the certificate alone, it fits under every price cap. One tip: for white elephant, order it with a placeholder inscription or in the recipient-unknown style—or just gift it framed and let the winner contact us. Better yet, gift a certificate to a specific person in a Secret Santa, where you know the recipient—the personalization is the whole magic.
-
It’s the one the parents will remember. Baby showers generate mountains of onesies, blankets, and diapers—all useful, all forgotten by the first birthday. A World’s Youngest Person certificate is different in kind: it commemorates the exact moment their child enters the world as a genuine record holder, and it’s ready to hang in the nursery from day one—their first framed achievement, earned at age 0 seconds.
Practical tip: you don’t need the birth details in advance. Order after the baby arrives with the exact date and time, or contact us about gifting arrangements before the due date. And if the shower has a group-fit table, this is the one that gets passed around the room.
-
If you asked someone what time they were born, we are certain they will never guess why you are asking! Though if you are unable to get someone’s time of birth, that’s OK. Just fill out the form as much as possible when ordering the certificate and we’ll take care of the rest.
-
The best approach is to proactively avoid the issue by double-checking all information before submitting. Though if you notice an error after submitting, please contact us immediately. We may be able to correct the information before your certificate is produced.

We understand that receiving a damaged certificate can be disappointing. Although we take additional steps to ensure the certificate and quality frame are shipped safely, we understand accidents can happen. If your certificate arrives damaged, please contact us immediately. We will do our best to resolve the issue promptly, whether its sending a replacement or offering a refund. We may require you to provide photos of the damaged certificate for documentation purposes. If we need to alter our packing methods, we will.
-
Cotton paper is considered superior to wood pulp (cellulose) paper because of its exceptional durability and longevity due to resistance to acids and environmental factors, and ability to absorb ink with less fading, running, and smudging. These characteristics make cotton paper the preferred choice for archival purposes, fine art printing, and situations where a long-lasting paper is needed (such as a World Record certificate!). The higher the cotton content, the better the paper quality, which is why we only use paper made with 100% cotton.
-
We take extra steps to ensure the authenticity and security of your certificate, including measures to prevent online replication. Certificates shown in pictures may have certain details, such as unique numbers, text content, or security features obscured or altered to protect against counterfeiting, and to keep the identities of individuals anonymous.
-
We want you to be completely happy with your purchase. If for any reason you’re not satisfied, you may return your order within 14 days of receiving it for a full refund. Items must be returned in their original condition. If an issue occurs outside of this window, please still contact us. Our priority is the happiness of our recipients (and those who see these certificates “out in the wild”).
Due to the personalized nature of our certificates, we cannot accept returns for correctly produced items. If your physical certificate hasn't shipped yet, you may cancel your order for a full refund minus processing fees. Please note that shipping costs, which at the base-level are included in the price, are non-refundable, and as such, are taken out of any refund. All claims for damaged items must include clear photographs of the damage and the original packaging.
-
No, and we think that’s the charm. Guinness tracks records almost nobody can break. We certify the one record everybody has.
-
Part of the fun of this certificate is being able to hang it on a wall. Also, being a physical certificate, that we made-to-order, we are able to provide verifiable authentication elements (e.g., stamped gold seal, holographic serial number) and ensure the highest quality.
